Recently, after another hectic day, I sat down with my iPad and decided to protest against the pace of life. I did this with pointalism, which is the creation of an image using small dots of colour. It began with laying down blocks of colour that captured the form. From then on in it was dot..dot..dot. The process certainly slowed my life down and I even experienced moments of anxiety when realising how many dots and how long this was going to take. But those thoughts dissipated with each further dot. This image is not amazing but it does represent a moment of impact on the pace of my life. I will now start another image and increase the number of dots.

Keep up the art Cherry, I’m sure you don’t have feedback often but I love seeing what you’re doing and envy you to some degree to have the commitment to sit and actually do the work: have the confidence to put your ideas down, the skill to make them work and the commitment to see them through.

Thank you Kate for your comments they are heartwarming and so kind! Prior to this year I hid away and did not share my work or my thoughts. In fact, I barely shared anything – even on Facebook. Interestingly, working under my business name and not my real name makes it easier. Like the majority of my generation (Australian) I was taught never to ‘brag’ so ever time I share my work I feel as though I shouldn’t. Thank you again and I hope you find the time to create something and then share it with us. Xx
